Nominations.
Iroquois Gas, headquartered in Shelton, is a limited partnership of four U.S. and Canadian energy companies. Iroquois was created in 1985 as a cooperative venture with a promise to bring reliable supplies of competitively priced natural gas into the Northeast.
With a strong belief in the importance of good corporate citizenship and investing in local efforts to help enhance the quality of life, Iroquois’ funding programs are designed to help those less fortunate and empower its pipeline communities to take steps to preserve their environmental heritage and increase passive recreational opportunities.

Participation in local events, assisting non-profit agencies, or encouraging employee involvement are some of the many ways the company tries to make a positive impact. Locally, Iroquois has contributed over $1M to the Valley United Way through its award-winning employee charitable giving campaigns. Its employees also participate in the United Way’s Corporate Volunteer Council and hold leadership roles on several non-profit boards. Iroquois is also committed to preserving the environment by seeking ways to minimize intrusions, and maximize protection, of our natural resources. Whether restoring a sensitive wetland, protecting sanctuaries for wildlife, or constructing nature trails, Iroquois recognizes that respect for the environment is an important part of who they are. Through its Land Enhancement and Community Grant programs, Iroquois has provided millions of dollars in support of land preservation, environmental enhancement, passive recreation and community-focused projects.
