• Soccer Recap: Xavier Adds Another Dominant Win to Their Ledger (maxpreps.com) — Shelton's boys soccer team fell 5–1 at home to powerhouse Xavier, continuing a rough stretch that has left the Gaels winless so far this season. Despite the loss, Shelton immediately gets another chance to regroup in front of home fans when they host Wilbur Cross on Tuesday evening. The matchup could help reset momentum after several difficult results.

• District of Connecticut joins DOJ Fraud Division, SBA, and SBA OIG in surge takedown exceeding $245 million in COVID-era loan fraud offenses (irs.gov) — A Shelton resident has pleaded guilty in federal court to defrauding the Paycheck Protection Program of more than $1.8 million through inflated business income and fabricated documents. The case is part of a nationwide Justice Department crackdown on COVID-era loan fraud that has uncovered hundreds of defendants and significant taxpayer losses. Sentencing for the Shelton defendant is scheduled for November.
