Shelton Coronavirus Updates: 3 More Residents Die Due To Virus
Naugatuck Valley Health District officials said seven Shelton residents have died a result of the new coronavirus.

SHELTON, CT — Three more Shelton residents died as a result of complications from the new coronavirus, said Naugatuck Valley Health District officials on Thursday evening. This means seven Shelton residents have died as a result of the virus.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families who have lost their loved ones during these difficult times," Naugatuck Valley Health District officials said.
The Valley COVID-19 deaths include one male in his 90s, three males in their 80s, one male in his 70s, and two females their 90s. Of the deceased, five passed away in nursing homes. The COVID-19 related deaths reported by NVHD have been confirmed through laboratory testing.

Health official said, "When an individual or worker tests positive for COVID-19 within an assisted living facility and/or nursing home, the investigation is led by the State Department of Public Health (DPH) and the State Facility Licensing and Investigation Section (FLIS). During Governor Lamont’s press briefing today, DPH Commissioner Renee Coleman-Mitchell announced that 57 nursing homes in the state have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. A list of facilities was announced in the Governor’s update yesterday and included the following Valley facilities:
- Naugatuck (1) : Glendale Center
- Seymour (1) : Shady Knoll Health Center
- Shelton (3) : Apple Rehab Shelton Lakes, Bishop Wicke Health and Rehabilitation, and Gardner Heights Health Care Center
