Shelton and Derby Election 2016: Conroy Out, but Other Incumbents Win
Before you head into the voting booth on Election Day here's information on all the candidates, polling places and more.

Update: Political newcomer George Logan, a Republican, has upset 12-term incumbent Democrat Joseph Crisco in the 17th State Senate race, reports Connecticut political guru Ken Dixon.
An Ansonia resident, Logan is the director of environmental management and government relations at Aquarion Water Company.

Additionally, Democratic incumbent Theresa Conroy, an advanced practice nurse, lost her 105th State House District post to Republican Nicole Klarides-Ditria, Seymour's Deputy First Selectman, according to Dixon.

Incumbents Kevin C. Kelly (21st Senate), Themis Klarides (114th House), Linda M. Gentile (104th House) and Jason Perillo (113th House) all won, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State's Office.

Polling places in the two communities, and throughout the state, will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and so far turnout reportedly has been strong in Connecticut.
On the ballot, registered voters in both cities will be able to select candidates for president and vice president, United States senator, representatives to U.S. Congress, state senator, state representative, and registrar of voters. Derby also has two Charter Revision questions on the ballot.

In Shelton, the choice for 21st Senatorial District involves Democratic candidate Prez Palmer, a U.S. Army veteran who also has an MBA, and incumbent Republican Kevin C. Kelly. Kelly is Assistant Minority Leader in the Republican Caucus.
For the 17th Senatorial District in Derby, Democratic candidate Joseph Crisco and Republican candidate George Logan. Crisco is completing his 12th term. Logan, of Ansonia, is the director of environmental management and government relations at Aquarion Water Company.

For the 114th State House District, the Republican candidate is Themis Klarides and the Working Families Party candidate is Aldon M. Hynes, who has run against Klarides before as a Democrat. Klarides, who is also the House Republican Leader, is serving her ninth term.
In the 113th State House District, incumbent Republican Jason Perillo is facing off against Democrat Adam Heller, a member of the Shelton Board of Apportionment & Taxation.
For the 104th State House District, six-term incumbent Democrat Linda M. Gentile, who's also Deputy Speaker, is running against Republican Joseph Jaumann, an Ansonia attorney.
Democratic incumbent Theresa Conroy, an advanced practice nurse, is seeking re-election in the 105th State House District, and she is up against Republican Nicole Klarides-Ditria, Seymour's Deputy First Selectman.
In the 122nd State House District, two-term Republican Ben McGorty is running against Green Party candidate Angela Capinera, a small business owner and volunteer EMT.
Republican Peter R. Pavone and Democrat John "Jack" Finn are the candidates for Shelton Registrar of Voters, while Republican Rachel Nichols and Democrat Louise A. Pitney are vying for the same position in Derby.
The candidates for president and vice president are Republicans Donald Trump and Mike Pence, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Libertarians Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, and Green Party Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.
For United States Senate, the candidates are incumbent Richard Blumenthal, Democrat, Dan Carter, Republican, Richard Lion, Libertarian, and Jeffrey Russell, Green Party.
For United States Congress, the choice for the Third District is between incumbent Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat and Angel Cadena, a Republican.
