Shelton & the Valley Goes Pink for Cancer Awareness Sept. 29
5th Annual Valley Goes Pink announce this year's theme:

The Griffin Hospital Development Fund recently announced the theme of this year’s “Valley Goes Pink,” “Early Detection Saves Lives.” The grassroots effort spans throughout the Lower Naugatuck Valley are with the goal of creating awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection.
The initiative kicks off Sept. 29 with the 5th Annual Valley Goes Pink. The event will take place at Welington’s Restaurant, 51 Huntington Ave., Shelton from 5-10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29. Committee members will wait tables and all tips received will to the cause.
Volunteers will hand out wine bags at the kickoff event so supporters can collect donations throughout the month of October. The bags will be collected at the closing event on Oct. 27, at Welington’s Restaurant,

During the month of October, Shelton, and other Valley towns are invited to host fundraising events and marketing programs to raise awareness and support. Past events include home-based “Pink Parties,” “pinkifying” your business with ribbons or lights, or hosting dress down day at work.
Over the last four years the Valley Goes Pink has raised over $20,000.
