Gussy Yourselves up at Simsbury's Han's Nails

Check out this nail salon right in town with its fun decor and special spa sale in December.

One of the very fun things we girls get to do in this season is go to parties.  Why is it fun?  Well one reason is because we get to gussy ourselves up.  Remember Maria in West Side Story singing, "I feel pretty, oh so pretty.  It's a pity how pretty I feel!"?  All ladies need some time in the cutie parlor (as my grandmother used to say) and today is my day to investigate Han's Nails in Simsbury, right next to CVS and Fitzgerald's.   Now, I have heard good things about this nail place, namely that they are clean and new which is a big deal if one is going to relax and get shined up a bit.

Well, what a pleasant surprise Han's Nails is!  Owned by David and Julie Lee who live in Simsbury, Han's was a relaxing and enjoyable respite for my day.  In choosing a color, I wanted to know what the Simsbury ladies are getting.  According to Won my nail technician, winter is still calling for those deep dark colors of black and deep brown for the ladies and the little girls like sparkles.  But for me, I needed something red.  Betty Draper does not wear it, but Joan Holloway of Mad Men fame, you know she does.

While waiting for my "fishnet stocking" red polish to dry, I read about their December "spa pedicure" sale.  For the month of December, you can get a pedicure with a callus treatment, soak, cleanser, masque, scrub, 20 minute massage with oil and heel finishing cream for $49 and the similar treatment for $29 for your hands.  They also offer foot reflexology and gift certificates or gift cards for any of their services.  I loved this place and am thrilled it is right in town.  I highly recommend giving them a try, a basic manicure is only $12 and they carry OPI and Essie products.  I plan to go back and report on the Green Tea spa pedicure and the callus treatment, not that I need it or anything.
