She defeated Republican challenger Mike Paine of Simsbury.

But that changed Tuesday night.
Osborne easily defeated Republican Mike Paine to win the seat serving a district that only includes Simsbury.

Paine conceded the race, something Osborne, a local attorney, said was appreciated and welcome.
"Thank you to Mike Paine for Simsbury for running a clean campaign and for his gracious concession this evening," Osborn wrote on her campaign's Facebook page.
"I am honored to represent all of our residents in Simsbury and I will always be available to listen to your concerns and needs as I will be Simsbury’s voice in Hartford."
