• Years Of Vandalism At Southbury Teacher's Home Detailed In Warrant: Report (patch.com) — Southbury residents are learning more about a string of vandalism incidents targeting a Pomperaug High School teacher's home, including eggings and a mailbox destroyed by an M80, that stretched back to 2024. Police arrested an 18-year-old former student from Middlebury in connection with a July 31 incident, and court records show he faces criminal mischief and trespass charges while additional arrests are anticipated.
   

• Pomperaug football beats Newtown for first time since 2011 behind Josh Coughlin's two TDs (nhregister.com) — Southbury football fans packed Edward Arum Athletic Field Friday night to watch Pomperaug beat Newtown 24-7, the Panthers' first win over the Nighthawks since 2011. Behind quarterback Josh Coughlin's two fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns and a dominant 311-yard ground attack, Pomperaug improved to 3-0, with coaches and players calling it a huge moment for the town and its sports community.
