Southbury Reports $1.09 Million Budget Surplus
The surplus is for the fiscal year 2013-14.

Southbury’s budget surplus for the last fiscal year was $1.09 million, Chris Gardner reports for the Republican-American.
While $794,000 of the surplus was allocated as revenue to keep taxes down, the rest will be put in savings.
According to the paper, revenue was higher than expected with more taxes being collected, totalling $753,000 and expenses were lower than expected totalling $413,000.
