SOUTHINGTON, CT — What began as a courtesy ride offered by police at a popular country/western bar turned into a wild altercation involving an intoxicated man calling 911 several times while in the police car, according to a report.
The incident took place on May 5, according to a report released Monday.

The charges resulted from a call about an "intoxicated person" who was refusing to leave the Cadillac Ranch at 45 Jude Lane. Southington police arrived, found Barner-Walton, and were in the process of providing him with a ride when he made several 911 calls for assistance from the rear of the cruiser, according to a report.
Officers pulled over to prevent further phone calls to 911 and Barner-Walton became uncooperative, according to a report. He was placed in handcuffs after a short struggle without any injuries to him or the officers, according to a report.
