Police Intercept Young Party-Goers at Southington YMCA Camp
The party was publicized on social media, police said.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — Young revelers who drove onto the local YMCA camp property for a party publicized on social media are in trouble with the law.
Southington police announced trespassing charges against those in the group on Friday. The party was on Tuesday, police said.
The cops were alerted to the gathering at 10:47 p.m. after dispatchers received a report of a possible "large party" on the property of YMCA Camp Sloper, according to a news release.

Officers found a "caravan" of 10 to 15 vehicles driving through the property, according to a news release.
The revelers claimed that "they heard there was a party at the camp via social media," police said.

Because they were found on private property after hours of camp operation, they were issued infractions for simple trespass, police said.

Police said eight 16-year-olds and 17-year-olds were also cited.
In addition, Alejandro Ortiz, 18, of Meriden, was issued a misdemeanor summons for misuse of marker plates, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating a motor vehicle without a license and simple trespass, police said.
