A recount took place on Tuesday in the 30th District state House of Representatives race.

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A recount took place on Tuesday in the 30th District state House of Representatives race between the current speaker of the house, Democrat Joe Aresimowicz and Republican challenger Michael Gagliardi.
The margin is currently 37 votes in favor of the speaker. After last Tuesday's results came in, the count was 5,892 votes for Aresimowicz and 5,855 for Gagliardi. Aresimowicz tallied 5,492 on the Democratic line and 400 on the Working Families Party line.
A margin within 59 votes calls for an automatic recount.
