Where does your grass go that is left in the road.

local waters being ruined

Did you ever think about where the grass clippings from your yard go when they end up in the road? That little bit of grass joins everyone else's and gets washed into the storm drains. The storm drains empty out into local ponds and waterways and acts like fertilizer in the water and algae and other nasty things begin to consume the oxygen that keeps the water clean. Given enough time it will choke the life out of the water and leave a stagnant and slimy mess. No wildlife will live in the water and the living pond will die. To recover the pond and bring it back to life will take years and a lot of work.

The few minutes it would take to sweep up this grass might be an inconvenience but if you live near one of these bodies of water it will be well worth it.

The EPA can levy a rather stiff fine for dumping near a water source as well as municipalities so why take chances.
