South Windsor Cops Making A Splash With Pink Accents In October
South Windsor Police Officers are wearing pink to support women's health.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — With October being nationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, South Windsor Police Officers are wearing pink to support women’s health.
For decades, police chief Scott Custer said, the department policy was that officers wear only black
shirts under their uniforms. For the next month, however, pink t-shirts will accent their
traditional uniform in an effort to increase awareness about women’s health issues.

In a collaboration with the Police Union, department members purchased a pink "South
Windsor Police Breast Cancer Awareness Month" T-shirt to wear in lieu of the traditional
black T-shirt, he said.
At the end of the month, proceeds from the purchases will be donated to the CT Breast Health Initiative.
