According to state police records, he lives on Tolland Avenue in Stafford.

He did not acknowledge attempts by state authorities to register when a renewal came up, state police said.

On Sept. 5, 56-year-old Mark Bishop was arrested at his East Main Street residence in Stafford and charged with two counts of failure to register as a sex offender. In 2001, he was convicted of forcible first-degree sexual assault, and risk of injury to a child, according to a warrant.

Attempts to get Bishop to renew on the registry failed, according to a warrant.

He appeared on Rockville Superior Court on Friday and his initial $50,000 bond was reduced to a promise to appear. He is due to be back before a judge on Oct. 10, records show.
