STAFFORD, CT — A 41-year-old Stafford man is accused of burning an ex's "priceless family heirloom" after a dispute, a state police arrest report indicates.

He was arrested on Aug. 30, two days after a restraining order was issued against him, state police said.

That day, state police were called to a home in Stafford for an incident involving "property destruction," according to an arrest report. The resident told state police that a hutch considered to be a "priceless family heirloom" had gone missing and was likely burned by an ex in a fire pit on the property, according to an arrest report.

State troopers located remnants of the hutch in a fire pit when they investigated the property, according to an arrest report.

The hutch was valued at between $2,000 and $5,000, according to an arrest report.

The man posted a $10,000 at his arraignment in Rockville Superior Court and is due back before a judge on Oct. 2, judicual system records show.
