WILLINGTON, CT — A Willington man has been slapped with a felony charge after an incident at a local home involving foul language that turned into a brawl, state police said.

Jason Poirier, 24, was charged with first-degree criminal mischief — a felony — in the case. He is also facing first-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct charges, according to an arrest report.

Poirier posted a $10,000 bond after his arraignment in Rockville Superior Court Monday and is due back before a judge on Dec. 9, according to judicial system records.

According to a warrant, the case dates back to Oct. 8, when state Poirier and a woman were installing a water pump at a home on Old Farms Road. Poirier is accused of continuously shouting profanities within hearing distance to young children and, when confronted by the resident, refused to leave, according to a warrant.

The resident said he was then knocked to the ground and was assaulted by several people, according to a warrant. The warrant also accuses Poirier of damaging the resident's car when finally leaving the premises.
