SoundWaters Volunteers Help Restore Stamford Harbor Salt Marsh (patch.com) β Stamford neighbors are rolling up their sleeves at Boccuzzi Park, where SoundWaters volunteers are restoring one of the city's last remaining Stamford Harbor salt marshes. By removing invasive plants and encouraging native growth, the project protects local wildlife, improves water quality, and invites residents to connect directly with their coastal environment through upcoming hands-on work sessions.

Popular Stamford Restaurant To Close After Over 10 Years In Business (patch.com) β A longtime favorite in Harbor Point, Fortina Pizza on Washington Boulevard will serve its last meals on Aug. 31 after more than a decade in Stamford. The owners thanked Stamford customers for making the restaurant part of the community, as the closure follows other recent restaurant exits in the neighborhood while some new concepts move in.

Stamford Health's $275 million expansion clears an early hurdle (stamfordadvocate.com) β Stamford Health just won early Planning Board approval for a $275 million expansion of its downtown campus, including a new cancer-care center, more parking, and relocated behavioral health and rehab units. The project now heads to the Zoning Board, with conditions aimed at limiting impacts on Stillwater Avenue neighbors and requiring a transportation plan to curb solo car commuting.
