'The Jerry Springer Show' Stops Production In Stamford: Report
The long-running tabloid talk show has been filmed in downtown Stamford since 2009.

STAMFORD, CT — "The Jerry Springer Show," the long-running tabloid talk show which has been filmed in downtown Stamford for several years, has stopped producing new episodes for the time being, and might be done for good, writes The Hollywood Reporter.
The 27-year-old show has been filmed in Stamford since 2009, but was not picked up by a network for new episodes in the spring. Staffers reportedly have begun looking for new employment.
The CW signed a deal to air repeats of the show, of which there are nearly 4,000 episodes, and could order new episodes in the future but currently has no plans to do so.

While the Springer show may be done, two other tabloid talk shows will still be filmed in Stamford, those of Darien resident Steve Wilkos and Maury Povich, writes the Stamford Advocate. Combined, the three shows employed more than 300 people.
Wilkos was recently granted accelerated rehabilitation by a court in connection with a DUI crash in Darien earlier in the year.
