Stamford Coronavirus Updates: City Has 2,337 Confirmed Cases

STAMFORD, CT — City officials announced Tuesday evening there have been 2,337 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Stamford as of April 28, according to state Department of Public Health. That number is up from the 2,255 confirmed cases of the virus, also referred to as COVID-19, reported by the state on Sunday, April 26, city officials said.

In the city's daily "COVID-19 situation newsletter," officials also noted the state's interactive dashboard that tracks cases and deaths across the entire state indicates Stamford has had "121 reported deaths attributed to COVID-19 cases" as of Tuesday, April 28.

On Friday, the city released a list of five upcoming mask distribution sites. The final of these events is scheduled to take place Wednesday, April 29, at Scofield Middle School, located on Scofieldtown Road, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The city's first responders will also host a food drive for the Fairfield County Food Bank on Saturday, May 2. Residents can drop off nonperishable food supplies to the Stamford Police Department, located on Bedford Street, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., officials said.
