Stamford Coronavirus Updates: City Has 2,339 Confirmed Cases

STAMFORD, CT — City officials announced Wednesday evening there have been 2,339 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Stamford as of April 29, according to state Department of Public Health. That number is up from the 2,337 confirmed cases of the virus, also referred to as COVID-19, reported by the state a day prior, city officials said.

In the city's daily "COVID-19 situation newsletter," officials also noted the state's interactive dashboard that tracks cases and deaths across the entire state indicates Stamford has had "125 reported deaths attributed to COVID-19 cases" as of Wednesday, April 29.

The city's first responders will also host a food drive for the Fairfield County Food Bank on Saturday, May 2. Residents can drop off nonperishable food supplies to the Stamford Police Department, located on Bedford Street, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., officials said.

City officials also reminded residents the Board of Finance will host a special budget meeting Thursday, April 30, at 7 p.m. via webinar.
