Stamford Coronavirus Updates: City Has 2,797 Confirmed Cases

City officials also noted Stamford has had "150 reported deaths attributed to COVID-19 cases" as of May 6, 2020.

STAMFORD, CT — City officials announced Wednesday evening there have been 2,797 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Stamford as of May 6, according to state Department of Public Health. That number is up from the 2,788 confirmed cases of the virus, also referred to as COVID-19, reported by the state a day prior, city officials said.

In the city's daily "COVID-19 situation newsletter," officials also noted the state's interactive dashboard that tracks cases and deaths across the entire state indicates Stamford has had "150 reported deaths attributed to COVID-19 cases" as of May 6.

The city's Board of Finance will host a special budget meeting Wednesday, May 6, at 8 p.m. via webinar. Residents can attend the meeting virtually or by dialing in at 914-614-3221 and using the access code 563-506-702.

City officials also remind residents Tuesday to use caution while driving on roads currently in the process of milling and paving in Stamford.

Currently, the state Department of Transportation is paving Route 104 (Lond Ridge Road) from Loughran Avenue to Route 137 (Cold Spring Road). This work will be conducted daily from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. until May 28, officials said.
