Stamford Traffic Alert: Bridge Inspections Will Cause Lane Closures

Find out where DOT crews will be inspecting local bridges this week.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced it will have crews conducting bridge inspections in Stamford this week, prompting lane closures on the Merritt Parkway.

Two lanes of the Merritt will be closed Tuesday, May 5. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the left lane will be closed northbound between Exits 31 and 33; as well the southbound right lane between Exits 34 and 31.

On Wednesday, May 6, the northbound right lane will be closed between Exits 31 and 33. The southbound left lane will be closed between Exits 34 and 31. The closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

And on Thursday, May 7, bridge inspections will cause alternating left and right lane closures on Atlantic Street between North State Street and South State Street, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
