2nd Annual Butterfly Extravaganza Set for July 31 in Mystic

2nd annual Butterfly Extravaganzaat the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center.

Mystic, CT (July 7, 2016) - The Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center will host the 2nd annual Butterfly Extravaganza from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, July 31 at the Nature Center, 109 Pequotsepos Road, Mystic.

This fun family event will educate you about the importance of our native butterflies, and how you can attract them to your yard. Kids can enjoy a scavenger hunt, crafts and face painting, and there will be music and delicious treats from Zest Fresh Pastry. Admission includes visiting DPNC’s Native Butterfly and Moth House, guided walks to find butterflies, and at the end of the afternoon, a parade to the meadow to release live butterflies.

Tickets include activities, refreshments, & a butterfly to release! Adults: $25; Children (12 and under): $20. Monarch Patron (4 tickets & a butterfly guidebook): $150; Swallowtail Patron (2 tickets & a butterfly guidebook): $75

Register online here or call 860-536-1216 by July 27th to reserve butterflies for the release. Walk-ins are welcome but will not receive a butterfly for release. This event is rain or shine. Don't forget to wear your wings!
