The Connecticut League of History Organizations (CLHO) would like to invite you to the CLHO Annual
Conference & Awards of Merit Presentation on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 9:30
am – 3:45 pm at the Mattatuck Museum,
144 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06702.
This year’s conference focuses on how historical societies, history
museums, and heritage organizations can build effective collaborative
relationship mong themselves, and with their communities and constituents, to
encourage preservation, conservation, education and stewardship of resources
throughout Connecticut . The event
features panel discussions, behind-the-scenes tours, and a sumptuous Awards of
Merit luncheon. The cost is $45 for CLHO
members, $50 for non members, and group discounts are available for 6 or more
registering together.
Some of the sessions for the day include The Collaboration Conundrum by Lauren Miller
of Connecticut Humanities who will speak on the importance of collaboration
despite the inherent difficulties. Staff
from the Connecticut Historical Society will discuss the newest exhibit at CHS created
in collaboration with students and faculty from Central Connecticut State
University. Other activities planned are
tours of the Mattatuck Museum’s collections storage area and exhibits, as well
as a walking tour of the Mattatuck Green.

food, and productive discussion with colleagues from all over Connecticut.
