Daughter of Man in Wheelchair Killed by Car Intends to Sue Stonington

Her father was struck by a car in May and died from his injuries.

STONINGTON, CT – The daughter of a man who waskilled in Stonington while driving his motorized wheelchair is intending to sue the town, NBC Connecticut reported.

Laurie Davis said her father Raymond Lanphere was struck by a car on May 25 while riding in the road, according to NBC Connecticut. Lanphere was unable to use the sidewalk because the condition of it made it impossible to operate his wheelchair properly.

A Notice of Claim filed on Aug. 19 said the sidewalk was uneven and pitted, according to NBC Connecticut. Lanphere died of his injuries in the hospital the day following the accident.
