Historic Yacht to be Repaired Locally in Stonington
A yacht built in 1905 and designated as a historic place will be repaired locally.

STONINGTON, CT – The historic yacht Doris will be repaired locally in Pawcatuck after languishing for years, in hopes of restoring it to its former glory, according to the Westerly Sun.
The yacht was built in 1905 by Herreshoff Manufacturing Company in Bristol, R.I., the Westerly Sun reported. It has been recognized by the National Register of Historic Places.
The vessel has been docked at Crocker’s Boat Yard in New London for more than 30 years, according to the Westerly Sun. The five-year restoration project will be spearheaded by a Taylor & Snediker Yacht Restoration associate out of a Mechanic Street facility.
