Long Vacant Stonington Gas Station Leased By Local Contractor

The previous Waterford-based owner recently had the gas tanks removed in preparation.

STONINGTON, CT- A local contractor will be moving into a long-vacant Route 1 gas station on Route 1 in Pawcatuck, the Westerly Sun reported.

The space will be occupied by a Stonington roofing and home improvement company called Weather Tight Inc., according to the Westerly Sun. The company has signed a three year lease and will be moving from their current Stonington Road location soon.

Previous owners Hendel South Broad LLC, of Waterford, recently removed the old Citgo gas tanks from the property and are awaiting the results of soil tests, the Westerly Sun reported. After soil removal and other remedial work is complete, Weather Tight will then fill in and retar the driveway.
