Mystic Aquarium Receives More than $30,000 Grants for Long Island Sound Projects

The foundation is one of 10 recipients of Long Island Sound Futures Fund grants.

MYSTIC, CT – The Mystic Aquarium’s Sea Research Foundation received two grants for Long Island Sound projects, The Day reported.

The foundation is one of 10 recipients of Long Island Sound Futures Fund grants, according to The Day. The grants total $600,000 and were awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

The foundation received $9,300, with a grantee match of $11,895, for community engagement programs, The Day reported. The foundation was also awarded $24,671, with a grantee match of $24,710, to monitor and identify local pollution sources.
