Mystic Aquarium Seeks Volunteers For 2022 Season
National Volunteer Week runs through April 23.

Mystic Aquarium celebrates National Volunteer Week from April 17th to April 23rd. Volunteers support the organization's mission, from providing guests with educational information about the habitats to hands-on animal care to rescuing stranded animals in the wild. In addition to gaining experience in the field, volunteers also receive on-the-job training and are on the frontline of environmental stewardship. Mystic Aquarium is seeking volunteers in various roles for the upcoming 2022 summer season.

Mystic Aquarium is currently seeking summer camp support and docent volunteers. Summer camp volunteers support Mystic Aquarium Educators during summer camps for kids. Docents educate guests about the variety of animals that live at Mystic Aquarium. Anyone 15 years or older can apply to become a volunteer. Here's what some of Mystic Aquarium's volunteers have to say:
"I knew I wanted to work at a zoo or Aquarium to care for animals, and volunteering provided me a foot in the door to building my resume. Eventually, volunteering became less about furthering my career and more about that I enjoyed spending my time at Mystic Aquarium because it feels like a family." - Malone Revis, 19-year-old husbandry volunteer.
"As a docent, we get a lot from watching the animals and being a part of their lives. The animals are always receiving new enrichment and reacting to different activities. Every week, they are up to something new, and no day of volunteering is the same. Every day with these amazing animals puts us in the giving spirit.
