National Historic Landmark Vessel Lowered into Mystic River
The Sabino has been undergoing an extensive restoration since fall 2014.

MYSTIC, CT - The last surviving coal-fired steamboat was lowered Wednesday morning into the Mystic River, The Day reported.
The Sabino is the only coal-fired steamboat in regular operation today and is designated as a National Historic Landmark vessel, according to The Day. It was released at the Mystic Seaport’s H.B. duPont Preservation Shipyard.
The vessel has been undergoing an extensive restoration since fall 2014, according to The Day. It is expected to be finished in time to offer cruises on the river next summer.
