Old Mystic Fire Department Wins National Award
The department has increased its ranks by 25 percent over the past five years.

OLD MYSTIC, CT - The Old Mystic Fire Department recently won a national award, the Westerly Sun reported.
The department received the 2016 National Recruitment and Retention Award this month, according to the Westerly Sun. It is presented by the Volunteer Firemen’s Insurance Services in partnership with the International Fire Chiefs Association.
The award was given at a symposium in Clearwater, Fla., the Westerly Sun reported. The department has increased its ranks by 25 percent over the past five years.
