Portrait of Beloved Stonington Resident Now on Public Display
The portrait of the late Keane's News Office owner is now on display in a first selectman's office.

STONINGTON, CT- A painting of late Keane’s News Office owner Frankie Keane has been donated to the town and is now on display in a first selectman’s office, The Day reported.
The painting has been hung in First Selectman Rob Simmons’ outer office, visible to all visitors, according to The Day. The portrait, titled “Morning News,” was done by borough artist Scott Gordley to help a Mystic girl fighting leukemia and her family.
Keane was a beloved Stonington resident who died in 2000 at the age of 90, as reported by The Day. He became a staple in town by running the newsstand seven days a week, becoming the place where residents gathered to find out the latest happenings and discuss all aspects of community life.
