STONINGTON, CT – The town’s application for a grant that would go towards a mile-long sidewalk has been approved, the Westerly Sun reported.
The $500,000 grant will allow the town to install a sidewalk along Route 1 from Spellman Drive to the Pawcatuck Shopping Center, according to the Westerly Sun. The new sidewalk is expected to measure a mile long.
The funding must be approved before final receipt by the state’s Bond Commissioner, the Westerly Sun reported. It will allow the town to move a Pawcatuck street project, which has been in the works for a while, forward.
