Stonington Board of Selectmen Enact Mandatory Pawcatuck Water Ban
They have set out specific rules for when residents can use water, to be enforced by police.

STONINGTON, CT – A mandatory water ban was enactedfor residents of Pawcatuck by the Board of Selectmen until Sept. 1, the Westerly Sun reported.
Water use in this case is defined as watering lawns and filling swimming pools and wading pools, according to the Westerly Sun. Washing cars, house exteriors, decks, water vessels and sidewalks also fall under this category.
Residents whose addresses are odd numbers may use water on odd number days of the month, and even number residents vice versa, the Westerly Sun reported. Stonington Police will verbally warn residents on their first violations and issue a $100 fine for their second.
