Stonington Borough Warden Asks Cannon Square be Dropped as Pokemon Go Hotspot

A Stonington official is asking the makers of the mobile game to drop Cannon Square as a "Poke hotspot."

STONINGTON, CT – Stonington Borough Warden Jeffrey Callahan is hoping to put a stop to issues regarding Cannon Square and the mobile game Pokemon Go, The Day reported.

Callahan has written to the makers of the game to ask that Cannon Square be dropped as a “Poke hotspot” at the request of villagers, according to The Day. Callahan said he only requested Cannon Square be dropped, and no other hotspots in Stonington.

Callahan said visitors to the area have been stopping traffic to let their kids out of the car to catch Pokemon, The Day reported. There have also been at least two incidents of players driving and sideswiping cars.
