Stonington Community Center to Offer Self-Defense Classes for Women
Better known as COMO, women will be able to attend a Rape Aggression Defense course.

STONINGTON, CT – The community center, better known as COMO, will be offering self-defense classes for women next month, the Westerly Sun reported.
A Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) course will be offered to empower local women to protect themselves with courage and confidence, according to the Westerly Sun. The course is meant to build awareness, rather than fear.
August was chosen as a timeframe partly because families will soon be sending their young daughters off to college campuses, according to the Westerly Sun. The session will take place Aug. 8, 10 and 13.
