Stonington Community Rallies Together to Help Family Displaced by Fire
As if out of a scene from "It's a Wonderful Life," the community is rallying to help a family in need.

STONINGTON, CT – The community has taken a page from the Frank Capra playbook and rallied together to raise money for a family in need of help.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Donald Albert, his wife Ruth and daughter Jacqueline in the wake of a massive fire that displaced the three from their home on Aug. 11. The fire was started by a lightning strike, causing an electrical fire that deemed the house a total loss, according to the page.
Nobody was seriously injured in the fire, which took several hours for four different fire departments to put out. Albert was in the house at the time the fire started, and had tried to extinguish the flames.

The page was started by Albert’s brother, Joseph. The fund is meant to go towards replacing what was lost in the fire, including clothing and personal and household items.
The page also aims to raise funds to rebuild the home's interior.
