Stonington Dog Park Fence Further Delayed

Looks like visitors will need to keep their dogs on a short lease for a little longer.

STONINGTON, CT- Construction of a fence at the Town Dock dog park faces more delays due to further permit complications, The Day reported.

The Planning and Zoning Commission decided Tuesday they would handle the decision on a nearly four-foot fence permit, taking over from Zoning Officer David Atkinson, according to The Day. Atkinson can issue permits for fences less than 4 feet tall, of which the planned fence is one inch short of.

The commission will meet on July 12 and 14 to hear the town’s plan for the fence, as well as public comments, The Day reported. The fence project dates back to April, implemented in response to complaints from neighbors of the park.
