Stonington Part of Towns Cracking Down on Underage Drinking at Parties

A regional task force will be patrolling throughout the area this week.

STONINGTON, CT- Police will be cracking down hard this week on parties with people under 21.

The Regional Community Enhancement Task Force are on a mission to make their towns a safer place to live and work. As a result, they will be checking around town for underage parties where alcohol is being served.

The task force will be patrolling in the Town of Groton, Groton City, Ledyard, Stonington, and Waterford at night during the later part of this week, according to a post on the Waterford Police Facebook page.

This assignment is aimed at making the community a safer place for the youth of each respective community. It is hoped this action will help curb underage drinking and prevent the potential for youth-related vehicular accidents.
