Stonington Police Assist in Random High School Drug Sweep

Dog teams from Montville, Stonington, Waterford, Norwich and Groton were among those who participated.

MONTVILLE, CT - Police arrested a juvenile at Montville High School on Friday following a drug sweep, the Norwich Bulletin reported.

The suspect was arrested on drug charges following a random sweep by police dogs at the school, according to the Norwich Bulletin. The juvenile was charged with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.

The goal of the sweep was to raise awareness of drug use and its consequences among Montville students, the Norwich Bulletin reported. Dog teams from Montville, Stonington, Waterford, Norwich and Groton were among those who participated.
