Stonington Police Respond to Possible Summer Scams

Police warn residents to be wary of possible scams while enjoying the summer.

STONINGTON, CT- Police are investigating two possible Tuesday scam attempts, the Westerly Sun reported.

Both incidents are related to local offers for driveway repavements, according to the Westerly Sun. In one incident, a Mystic resident was given a price for the job, then told a much higher price when a worker came to the house.

The second incident involved an employee offering to pave a resident’s driveway with extra materials, then not returning to the house after being asked to come back later, the Westerly Sun reported While nobody was really affected by the possible scam attempts, as no money was ever paid out, the incidents still concern police who warn residents to look out for similar types of scams this summer.
