Stonington Town Wharf Restoration Garners Supports from Senators

The committee in charge wants to rebuild the wharf for a couple of reasons.

STONINGTON, CT – The town’s effort to restore the Town Wharf has garnered support from the state senate, The Day reported.

Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy recently announced they had convinced the authors of the federal Water Resources Development Act to amend the act, according to The Day. This action will return the wharf to the town’s control.

The committee in charge wants to rebuild the wharf for historical purposes, The Day reported. It is also hoped the rebuilding will better protect the east side of the harbor during storms.
