Stonington to Vote on Recently Approved River Park Proposal

STONINGTON, CT – Residents will vote on the $2.21 million purchase of land that will accommodate a town park, the Westerly Sun reported.
The land is a 1.5 acre waterfront parcel along Route 27, according to the Westerly Sun. The location is hoped to accommodate a town park, as well as future plans for a boathouse to be used by a high school crew team and a public rowing program.
Voting will take place during a special town meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium, the Westerly Sun reported. The property is under contract with the Trust for Public Land at the moment.
