Stonington and Westerly Agree to Share Cost of Stillman Bridge Inspection, Repair
The bridge is owned jointly by the towns and considered part of the local road system.

STONINGTON, CT - Stonington and Westerly have agreed to work together and share the cost of the Stillman Avenue bridge work, the Westerly Sun reported.
The towns will evenly share the cost of repairing and inspecting the bridge on Stillman Avenue, which carries traffic over the Pawcatuck River into Westerly, according to the Westerly Sun. The towns also plan to seek federal and state money to assist with the project.
The bridge has received serious/poor ratings from the transportation department, while the Pawcatuck Fire Department has prohibited some of its trucks from using it, the Westerly Sun reported. The bridge is owned jointly by the towns and considered part of the local road system.
