Taylor Swift Reacts To Gate Crashing With 'Getaway Car' Lyric

After a Hartford man allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle into Taylor Swift's estate, the pop star kept it light.

WESTERLY, RI - Taylor Swift is saying, "Nothing good starts in a getaway car," after a car thief crashed a stolen vehicle into the front gate of the pop star's Watch Hill estate. Swift posted the lyrics to her 2017 hit in a reply to a post about the incident on Instagram along with a shrugging emoji.

The Westerly Sun reported that Shykeim Edwin Lewis, 19, of Hartford, was charged with reckless driving by engaging police in high-speed pursuit and other charges the incident early Tuesday morning.

According to police reports, the chase began on Route 3 in Hopkinton at around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Lewis allegedly led Westerly and Hopkinton police on a high-speed chase reaching speeds of up to 65 mph before crashing into the wall and gate of Swift's estate at 16 Bluff Ave., according to The Sun. Lewis and a passenger got out of the car and attempted to flee.

The incident is under investigation. The AP reported that Lewis was held on $10,000 bond.

Swift wasn't home at the time of the incident, according to TMZ.
