WALK THE WALK FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION The Southeastern Regional Action Council (SERAC) is pleased to offer a great opportunity to help raise awareness on substance abuse prevention. Friday May 31st SERAC will hold Walk the Walk: The Stories We All Share Walk-a-Thon. This event will be held at the Preston Community Park Rt 117, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. This is a family friendly event open to the public with snacks, refreshments and youth activities. There will also be up-beat music as you walk the track. As participants complete laps around the track they will collect and read stories written by youth in Southeastern CT. These stories express how their lives have been affected by drugs and alcohol and why they choose to stay drug free. This is a perfect opportunity for a fun, healthy and safe night out with family and friends. We are asking for a suggested $5 dollar donation to help support future walks. Local high school students involved in SERAC’s Adolescent Learning & Leadership Institute (ALLI)helped plan this event, so come support their efforts by walking the walk! Join us as we raise awareness and provide hope to those who have been affected by substance abuse. Come talk the talk and walk the walk! If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office at 860-848-2800. SERAC is a non-profit organization that assists prevention efforts in 20 towns in Southeastern CT and aims to reduce substance abuse and other addictive behaviors.
