3 Charged In Stratford Car Break-Ins: Police
"By their own admittance they left Bridgeport and came to Stratford because they know many residents do not lock their cars," police said.

STRATFORD, CT — An 18-year-old and two juveniles have been charged after an investigation into several car break-ins that occurred over the past week.
Heriberto Soto-White and the two juveniles are charged with third-degree burglary, criminal trespass and interfering with an officer, according to Stratford police. The trio were seen Thursday entering cars in town, and, after a brief foot chase, were apprehended by officers, police said.
“By their own admittance they left Bridgeport and came to Stratford because they know many residents do not lock their cars or leave the cars unlocked with the car keys in the vehicle,” a police department news release said.

Soto-White was held on a $10,000 bond and will appear in court Aug. 28, according to police. The juveniles were released to their parents or guardians.
“Most Police Departments throughout the state, including Stratford have repeatedly warned residents to lock their car doors and refrain from leaving valuables in the car. Failure to do so creates an environment where these crimes frequently occur,” the news release said. “The first line of defense to protect your property is to secure it and deny criminal(s) an opportunity to commit a crime.”
