STRATFORD, CT — A 24-year-old woman pleaded not guilty Friday in the death of a Stratford woman who was struck by a vehicle last year in Stamford, according to the Connecticut Post.
Courtney Sabia, of Stamford, was arrested in February and is charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle after the crash, in which 61-year-old Nancy Flores was hit by a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta about 9 p.m. Nov. 13 at Washington and Tresser boulevards, police said.
Flores, remembered in her obituary as a resilient and hard-working person who held two jobs to support her family, died at the scene. Sabia stayed in the area and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
