Ex-New Haven Cop Sentenced In Sexual Assault Of Stratford Teen: Report

The ex-police officer claimed he was the victim of a coverup as part of the victim's family's recent lawsuit, the Connecticut Post reported.

STRATFORD, CT — The former New Haven police officer sentenced to 10 years in prison for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old Stratford girl claimed he was the victim of a coverup as part of the victim’s family’s lawsuit against the parent companies of Instagram and Snapchat, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports Eddie Rodriguez, 55, told the judge that while he accepted responsibility for his actions, he claimed he never knew the “true” age of the victim.

The judge called Rodriguez, who was on probation for sexually assaulting a West Haven teen at the time of the Stratford sexual assault, a “narcissistic conman” during sentencing, according to the Post.
